With over 14 years competitive swimming coaching, Coach Coenie is a long serving member of the South African Swim Coaches & Teachers Association S.A. Number 8404. Coenie is also a member of the USA Coaches Association. Coenie swam for Western Province Schools in 2000 as well as competing in the SA Short Course Championships in 2000. He also competed in the SA Junior Nationals in 2003. Coenine is also an accomplished Lifesaving and Biathlon competitor, having gained Provincial colours in each of these respective sports.

My mission as a swimming coach is to inspire and develop swimmers who strive for excellence both in the water and in life. I aim to create a positive, enjoyable, and motivating training environment where each swimmer feels supported and challenged. By adapting to each athlete’s unique needs, I nurture not only their skills and performance but also their confidence, discipline, and love for the sport.
